Shifting and Transferring

Shifting refers to the change of a student’s major or degree program within UP Cebu. Shifting is allowed only after completion of at least fifteen (15) academic units and with a general weighted average (GWA) of 2.6500 or better.

For shifting purposes, the curriculum weighted average (CWA) is used as a basis for evaluating the student’s admission into the B.S. Management program. In the computation of the CWA, only the grades in courses that will be credited into the B.S. Management program will be considered. 

From within UP Cebu:

  1. Accomplished Application for Shifting of Course.
  2. True Copy of Grades for evaluation by the Student Record Evaluator (provided by your current college).

The admission is subject to the availability of slots and compliance with the admission requirements of the School of Management.

From within UP Cebu:

Submit an accomplished Application for Shifting of Course together with a True Copy of Grades for evaluation by the Student Record Evaluator (SRE) [SoM Office of the College Secretary]Subject to compliance with admission requirements of the new program.

Transfer refers to students who have attended another institution before UP Cebu.

From other UP constituent universities:

A transfer is allowed only after completion of at least thirty (30) academic units and with a general weighted average (GWA) of 2.6500 or better.

  • Accomplished Application Form for Transfer From Other School(s)/Other UP Unit(s)
  • True Copy of Grades for evaluation by the UP Cebu Office of the University Registrar
  • SRE evaluates the application and processes form with the appropriate remarks.
  • The admission is subject to the availability of slots and compliance with the admission requirements of the School of Management.

From other universities:

Application for transfer shall be considered for admission to the university only during the first semester of each academic year. Transfer shall be considered only after completion of at least 33 collegiate academic units equivalent to UP courses with a minimum GWA of 2.000.

  • Accomplished Application Form for Transfer From Other School(s)/Other UP Unit(s)
  • True Copy of Grades for evaluation by the UP Cebu Office of the University Registrar
  • SRE evaluates the application and processes form with the appropriate remarks.
  • The admission is to the availability of slots and compliance with the admission requirements of the School of Management.
  • There is NO guarantee that courses taken in the previous university will be validated and accredited by the School of Management.
