UPC BSM students' First Off-Campus Service Learning with DTI VII Micro-Enterprise Beneficiaries
As part of the Enterprise Planning and Development course, the Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) students from the University of the Philippines Cebu (UPC) Department of Trade and Industry-Region VII (DTI-VII) and UPC Office of the Pahinungod began their first off-campus service-learning project by visiting local micro-enterprises in Cebu on September 25, 2024, to provide support and assistance especially in crafting a business plan for expansion.
Assistant Professor Ivy Jumao-as, the adviser for these students, immerses them in practical learning by collaborating with business partners who are micro enterprise beneficiaries of DTI-VII, so that they can better understand their businesses' specific needs, share humble insights to support growth, and gain hands-on experience that will help them apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios in the future.
