Professor Jesus Cinco, Jr. completed two certification exams on Business Analytics given by the University of the Philippines (UP) National Engineering Center in July 2017 and in January 2018. After passing the two examinations covering six 3-day modules on business intelligence and analytics, Professor Cinco is now a Certified Business Intelligence Analyst, as well as a Certified Business Intelligence and Analytics Professional.
This recent achievement supports the School of Management’s objective to implement the revised Bachelor of Science curriculum which will be implemented in August AY 2018-2019. In the revised BSM curriculum, one of the two additional major management courses introduced is Mgt 188 (Fundamentals of Business Analytics). Mgt 188 will be offered as a course on the second semester of the third year of study for the first batch of K-12 entrants to UP Cebu. To ensure that the remaining two batches of students under the old BSM curriculum get an introduction to business analytics, SoM plans to offer two sections of Mgt 197 (Special Topics on Management) on the first semester of AY 2018-2019.
