UP Cebu School of Management is proud to announce that its 4th Year BS Management (minor in Finance) students have been named finalists in the Waku Work Social Innovation Contest 2025. Out of 117 applicants across Cebu, they emerged as one of only six finalists.
Representing UP Cebu, Team REEFINE earned recognition for their project on bioplastics made from seaweed waste—an innovation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals on Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Climate Action (SDG 13), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Life Below Water (SDG 14).
The team is composed of Atasha Nicole Bahande, Jemalor Arche, Stephanie Angel Benabaye, Caryl Tricia Calinawan, Joanah Marie Generale, and Jhon Mark Yuen. The finals were held on September 11, 2025, at the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus.
