Students from the School of Management and the Department of Biology and Environmental Science of the University of the Philippines Cebu participated in “Way Plastikay: Understanding Environmental Laws and the Plastic Crisis” on May 13, 2026, at the AS Hall. Organized in partnership with the Philippine Earth Justice Center, Inc., the forum brought together environmental advocates, legal experts, and members of the academe to discuss plastic pollution, environmental protection, and laws promoting the right to a healthy environment. Resource speakers included Atty. John Menguito, Dr. Kristina Paler, and Atty. Roger Rivera, who shared insights on environmental rights, plastic pollution in Cebu, and key environmental legislation. The event supports UP Cebu’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and reduce the use of single-use plastics on campus.
